![]() Steel Assault is excellent advancement on the genre. It maintains retro roots from the graphics to the chapter breakdown, powerups and health can be had from chests in the levels and I like how levels are not just go from left to right, with the Zipline you can almost create your own path as the levels encourage exploration and experimentation. I love how it looks and plays, you can see inspiration from classic games such as Castlevania, Metal Slug and even a bit of Bionic Commando but it never feels like it’s ripping them off or uses their gimmicks, it’s just a feeling, a nod to them and it all culminates into a U ique but ass kicking experience that any fans of the genre really should check out. OK so it plays like a whole new genre thanks to a Zipline you use to create platforms and ways to get over obstacles, combine this with your laser whip and you have yourself a great experience. However, we’re still a way to our goal, and we still need all the help we can get. Right now, we stand at almost 150 backers, with just over 3,500 in funds raised Thanks to everyone in this thread who backed the project, and all of those who supported us in getting this far. ![]() Steel Assault is a brutal assault on the platformer shooter genre, it brings us glorious 16 bit graphics, a Catchy set of soundtracks and solid controls buuuuut it will kick your ass at every step.
